Namaste
We took a walk down to the Mandovi River to board our boat for a nice evening meal. The boat called "Noahs Ark" appeared not to move from the riverside and then we found out it was preparing for dry dock and it was the last night before it went in!!!
Although the boat didn't move we still had a great evening watching the other boats float up and down the river with lots of Indian tourists dancing themselves into a frenzy!!!
Today we opted to take the local bus from Katamba Bus Station in Panjim to Colva our next stop. We queued up and paid our Rs38/50p and then took our seats for the 1 hour journey to Margao where we needed to catch another bus. I am pleased to say that the buses run on time not like the trains. We had a bag of crisps for our breakfast (Dot I miss your bacon sarnies!!!) then sat on the bus that would take us to Colva.Twenty miutes passed then we were asked to move to a different bus, or as I now refer to them ovens on wheels to take us the 6km to Colva.
If you ever get the chance to ride on a bus in India REFUSE and take a rickshaw. The sign at the front read 29 seated and 12 standing but at one point we had 35 seated and 30 standing so the smell of sweaty bodies and fish from the market went down a treat. As we journeyed closer to Colva more and more people jumped on, at one point Mel had her face pressed against the window!!!
Our room in Colva is more basic than the last and somebody forgot to put glass where the windows should be!!!!
Spent the afternoon on the beach watching the jet skiers and paragliders from a bar, the day ended on a high when we got roped into a time share scam but got a free beer out of it and who would have guessed it a 7 night hoilday to Singapore which we declined then ran off with the beer!!!!
Tomorrow will probably be a lazy day by the Arabian Sea taking it easy and hiding from the sun wherever we can find any shade.
Lots of love
M & M
