One of the reasons i needed to get my thai visa so badly was that our first week in thailand was at a hotel that Matt's parents had booked in advance for us. This was great as we didnt need to book anywhere when we got to phukett, and also it was a 5 STAR resort!!!!! The place was amasing, there is no other word for it. As we arived a porter took our bags, and wisked them away on a trolley, We had necklaces made of flower draped round our necks and given some free ice cold lemonade. The room when we got there was palacial compared to anything i have ever stayed in before. Both Jack and i got a King size bed, and matt got a queen size, in a separate on-suit. We got a private balcony there were 5 pools (one with a in pool bar, where we spent alot of money) a gym/health club, and miles and miles of deserted beach. There was also a baby elephant called Yum Yum! Most of our time there was spent relaxing next to the pool or on the beach. While we were there we went deep sea fishing (which wasnt so deep) but we all caught a few fish, one of which we got to take home. While on the beach we mucked around in the water riding in the waves. We cooked our own food to keep the cost down, as all the resaurants were v-expesive. One of the nights we were invited to a staff bbq on the beach, and so we brought the fish that we had caught and got it cooked. All in all the week spent at the marriott was very relaxing and enjoyable, and i would like to thank Chris and Caroline Wilkinson for allowing us to stay there.
After Pukett we were off to the islands of Koh phan yang and Koh Tao on the east coast of southern thailand.
