We didn't get the best of sleeps due to jet lag so we headed for an early breakfast at the buffet and stuffed ourselves with as much as possible. Our flight wasn’t until later in the afternoon so we just lazed about at the hotel and enjoyed a cup of tea in the lounge before it was time to pack up and make the last leg of the journey.
We made our way round to T5 and checked in and soon enough we were in the lounge and thinking about where we would go on our next holiday! We had a couple of things to eat but the lounge felt overly busy so we decided to head to the smaller one nearear the domestic gates. A trip to the mulberry store was made on the way where Andrew bought Mandy a matching purse for her bag.
Our flight by this point was showing a little delay so we tucked into some more food and wine and watched the planes landing. Boarding came around and after a trek back to the other end of the terminal we were on board where we immediately noticed that something may not be right as the engine cowlings were open. Sure enough after witnessing some gestations between engineer and ground staff the captain made the announcement that this plane was going nowhere, we were to be bussed across to a spare aircraft that was quickly getting prepared for our departure. Before long we were on our way to Aberdeen where we were met with a hug from Mother Shanks and home we were!
