Ahhh Switzerland! What a picturesque country. Blue skies, temps in the 30's. If only they had air conditioning. They don't usually have temps this high apparently. Our balcony has a 180 degree view of the town (Luzern) lake and Swiss alps still with snow. Just stunning.
Last night we went to a Swiss folk evening. Entertainment by yodeling, alphorn, wooden spoons, broom (yes broom, winters are long here), and other traditional instruments.
Mal along with about 10 others were called up on stage to yodel! Everyone agrees he was the best! They all then had to skull a pint. Mal did so well at this even people at other tables wanted to shake his hand! At the end of the night a lovely walk along the lake shore back to the hotel.
Today we took the cogwheel train to the top of Mt Pilatus (I feel like we should have stretched more before our ascent) It is the steepest train journey in the world at an ascent angle of 45 degrees. Fantastic views from the summit, then a cable car trip back down the other side traveling over ski slopes and farms. They really do put bells on their cows over here. After a nice morning out we made a beeline to the local pharmacy (Apothice) as Mal had almost succumbed to his near fatal dose of man flu. Luckily he struggled on and supported Tanya through the slight sniffle she was suffering and a well deserved afternoon nap was had at the hotel.
