To keep my promise, here is the next chapter of my journey! Im not even gonna say Im sorry for the delay.. Im just keeping you guys on your seats! Well, after leaving everyone behind and starting my journey up to my most northern stop in New Zealand it was time to go see Paihia, the Bay of Islands. The bustrip there was a little mopey, as I was still sad about being alone again. But as I got to my room in the hostel I met some great people and things started turning good again! :) After a not-to-eventfull night my second day "up north" was used to bus even further up north, on a daytrip to Cape Reinga, to the most northern point of the north island. Yep, lots of norths there.. Well, as we got to the cape we were told that it had not rained there since christmas.. Unfortunately for us, the weather gods had decided we was gonna be the first to experience some rain on the cape in 2013. And we did... Ruined the visability a little, obviusly, but also the point where you can see the two oceans meeting was not easy to see as the rain was pouring down.. We did see it as we were walking back up to the bus though, so it was allright I guess.. For those who didn't know Cape Reinga is where the Pacific ocean and the Tasmanian ocean meets. This is visible for the human eye as a colour difference in the sea and current of sorts going out from shore.. Pretty cool! :) The daytrip also took us to 90mile beach, sandsurfing in the sand dunes and to the world famous fish and chips somewhere on the coast there.. What is special about it is that this fish and chip-shop gets its fish stright form the boat in the morning, and it was acctually really good! Yes, I did, I had the fish.
Next day I went out diving with Paihia dive. I was very excited to go diving again, but was a bit stressed that it was gonna be colder that the tropics where I started my diving.. Temperature was ok, though so that concern faded quickly. I was supposed to do two reef dives, but ened up taking another diving-lesson sort of thing, doing three dives including a deepdive to a wreck and a navigation dive plus a buoyancy controll dive for those who really wanted to know. Diving to a wreck was really cool! Visability was fantastic (some 20m)! next dive we went into a underwater cave, which also was really good! After my dives this day I became a certified Adventure diver, which means I just have to do two more dives and I will be certified as an advanced diver. Hoping to do that back home;)
After finishing up in Paihia, we headed back down south to Auckland for one night before the last couple of days in New Zealand, which I will save for one final entry;) stay tuned!
