Well the Angels are home and the mission is over.
Had a late start Wednesday and had breakfast at cafe down the road. We planned to do the Blue line trolley tour and after not getting much joy from our inquiries at the Hotel walked into Waikiki to see what we could arrange. It was very hot and by this time it was the middle of the day so we decided to get our tickets and go first thing the next day. As we were at the trolley station we decided to catch the pink trolley to one of the major shopping complexes Ala Moana.
Wendy/Zara bought seven pairs of shoes and as a consequence is now affectionately known as Zara Marcos! We all did some damage at the centre particularly in Longs the local drug store where top line make up can be purchased at a fraction of the cost here in Australia.
That night we joined the family at a Japanese steak and seafood restaurant where the food was superb .
Up early next morning for our Blue Line bus trip. It was good. There are only three trips a day and the early morning one is the best. Not too many people. We saw the crowd for the second tour.....
After the tour we went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. Then Trish and Wendy went shopping while Pam went back to the hotel to do her hair and organise check out for the next day.
That night it was the Italian restaurant to celebrate Linda and Kirsty's birthdays. Because of the time difference they were actually able to celebrate over two days!
We left hotel around 7.30am next morning to begin the trip home. Flight was not until 10.55 but already there was a long queue at the Qantas checkin. However we got to go to the priority line so it did not take as long. We were also sent to the priority security line so before we knew it we were in the Qantas lounge.
It was only a small lounge but breakfast cereals etc were available so it was quite pleasant. We were entertained by listening to people asking how to connect to the wifi. The instructions were extremely confusing. We had worked it out but most people couldn't .
Plane was late leaving but Captain said we would make up time. They had overbooked by one passenger and asked for a volunteer to get off. The inducement was $1300,overnight accommodation and guaranteed flight next day. Everyone cheered the young bloke who volunteered .
We finally took off. Did not have seats together which was a bit disappointing. Trish and Wendy were together in row 1 on right hand side while Pam was in single seat 2A on the left hand side. It was another plane with tablets. They should chuck these as sound is not good. However none of this mattered because the crew was the best we think we have ever experienced.
Landed in Sydney on time and went to get our bags which again had been marked priority. Trish's and Wendy's came through quickly. Wendy's had been opened by US customs and not put back very neatly. To top it off the case had been damaged. We waited for Pam's. Eventually she was called to the Qantas desk to be told her bag had been put on a Jetstar flight, had arrived and already cleared through customs! Now that's PRIORITY for you.
We had arranged cabs who we missed because of collecting Pam's bag. We were at the pre book area and they were in the terminal. We found each other and so it was time for the Angels to separate and go home.
As you can imagine Trish and Pam were met by six very excited dogs. It was a great welcome.
We had the best time. Big thanks to all our friends we stayed with and caught up with on the way. You made our trip truly magnificent . To all the new friends - thank you. To those at home we loved getting your messages and hope you enjoyed our blog.

Helen Have followed the blog with no small degree of envy. Good to see you had such a great time. Question: Did the Angels or the dogs wet themselves with excitement when reunited? Welcome home.
Pam Helen. I think everyone wet themselves!
Fran Knott Welcome home girls. Great to get all your news and photos. Hope you adjust to the cold weather quite quickly. Trust everything is OK at home.
