Our flight back to Melbourne was not until 5.30pm so we had all day to kill in Sydney. After thankfully checking out of our hostel, we headed down to the harbour to have another look at the harbour bridge and the opera house. We then had a walk around the botanic gardens which we were really good. As we are heading to Asia for 6 months, we thought we would take some advantage of some western food for the last time in a while and went to Pizza Hut buffet!!!! After gorging ourselves on pizza and ice cream, we could barely move so we shuffled our way to the station and caught the train to airport.
The flight to Melbourne is only an hour and ten minutes so we were back at the tiny airport outside of Melbourne by 7. We didn't make it back to our hotel until half 8 as we had to walk from the bus station so, as we were still full on pizza, we relaxed in the room with a bit of tv and had a quiet night.
We had a lie in this morning and then had to go and retrieve our big rucksacks which we had left at the Hilton. The walk back from the Hilton was pretty difficult considering we were hauling our big rucksacks and it must have been 35 degrees and about 3 or 4 kilometres. We made it back and then had a load of laundry to do and our bags to re-pack ahead of Asia.
So that's it now for Australia and again we've had a cracking time. The weather has been mostly great and we've particularly loved Melbourne and Sydney was great as well. We would both have to say that the two highlight have been the drive down Great Ocean Road which was truly immense and spending 3 days with Beth's cousin Joy. We had a great time and it was nice to forget about the budget for a few days although to Beth's dismay we are now firmly sticking to the budget!!!
We fly to Singapore tomorrow where we have now got 5 and a half months travelling through South East Asia which we are both really excited about.
