After a late get up thanks to a cracking hang over, it was about time we cleaned some clothes. I've learnt laundromats are great places for a hungover lie down. After we had recovered and our clothes no longer smelled like old wet dog, we headed to the Mall, as apparently that is what Americans do the day after Thanksgiving. No sales or bargains were bought and no fights broke out, all in all it was a bit of a disappointing Black Friday.
We were sad to leave New Orleans, but it was time to hit the road again and head on up to Jackson, MI. The next day we attempted a touristy day around the city but found ourselves confronted with a ghost town. We stopped off in a Popeyes for some delish fried chicken, slaw and mashed potato - where we found out there was some kind of parade that day. That we had missed.
Instead we decided to head straight on up to Memphis. After finally finding our motel (turns out West Memphis is in Arkansas, not Tennessee like the rest of Memphsis - confusing), we decided to treat ourselves to a pizza and movie night at a local cinema. Whilst waiting inbetween our pizza and the film we headed to a bar for a beverage. It was only upon Donna returning from the toilet and having her bum grabbed that we relised it was a lesbian bar, as much as we wanted to stay for the cabaret show but some Hunger Games action was calling. I got very excited about having some popcorn, but 'sweet' was not an option. Instead I ended up with salty popcorn and a cinnamon powder to put on it. YUK. After a good cry at poor Katniss, we thought we would swing by Graceland on the way home and look at it 'all lit up, ah huh huh'. (Bad joke). But weren't really able to get close enough without looking like Elvis Stans and possibly getting ourselves into trouble. Again.
