I headed back to the hostel and rested my foot and then Ang texted me and she had landed so once showered she headed over to me. I did not expect her until the Saturday so this was a pleasant surprise :) When she came over we had a good catch up and then headed for town for a look around and some dinner. We settled on a Malaysian and I went for a roti chani, man I have not had one of those since Malaysia so I was loving it. Afterwards we went to try and get her a hostel for the next night. All the hostels were booked out as it was homegrown festival that weekend. This was a music festival when all the NZ talent came to Wellington to showcase their music. She was going to sleep in with us but luckily she got an offer from a friend of a friend to stay at their place. The next day I waited for Nat, Nick and their friends to arrive so I could put my stuff in the room. They got there about half 12 and we had a little catch up before I went to meet Ang. We headed for a look around town and then to the visitor centre to get Ang some information before we headed to the Te Papa museum for a look about. It was my third day there looking about :) We picked up some groceries and made a pasta dinner back at my hostel and said our goodbyes which was sad. It was so lovely to see a friendly face from back home but it felt weird and not like it had been 6 months since I last saw her :) The next morning I awoke for 5.45 and headed for my 12 hour bus ride back to Auckland. It was a small bus but bloody freezing for the first 6 hours. We then did a stop in the national park and it was full for the next 6 so it soon warmer up. We did a couple of stops on the way back up but it was an ok journey really. When I got back to Auckland I went to stay at the Nomads Fat Camel and it was pretty lively. There were 2 young girls from England who had 18 days in NZ and were basically staying in Auckland and getting drunk. Nice huh. I could not do that, whats the point. May as well stay in the UK. They were pretty annoying and just kept the hostel awake when they were shouting at night. Thankfully it was for only 2 nights.
On the Monday I went for a wander about Queens street in search of some Jade or Greenstone as its known by the Kiwi's. I found a few places but I could not decide on a piece I really liked. Also I did not want to buy it for myself as it was sort of bad luck so I needed a friend to be with me so I could give them the cash :) Well it is a way around that belief. I could not settle for one so I thought I would leave it until I saw Nat. I picked up my Maori design from the Stray office. I was getting pretty pissed as when I turned up in the morning it still was not there but luckily it was there in the afternoon. Its really pretty and I definitely want it tatoo'd on to my body. I just need to decide where. I have always wanted a tatoo but somwhere discreet and something special. Well this one definitely has significance for me and my life and aspirations so it has to be done really. I will get it done when I get home. I then met Ginny for a velevet burger and catch up on the last few months. We then went to Fort Union for a drink, a well needed glass of white wine :) Later on Nat turned up and we checked her in and then went for some food for her and another glass of wine. When we got back to the hostel Nat kindly let me have her phone and I called STA back home and sorted out my return flight for a bargain £412 with BA so I was chuffed. It was a bit of a nightmare with the time difference and I wanted it booked before I left Auckland in case they made me book a flight once I landed in Lima.
