The next day we were picked at 11am to get our boat back to Bali. That didn't stop me from hitting the beach for an hour before we got picked up! We ended up walking around to meet the boat as the tide was low. Took 2 hours to get back and we sat on the top deck and we got cooked but it was better then being in the sweaty cabin downstairs. We then got our transfer which took 2 hours back to Jimbaran.. we seemed to have loads of ants in the car (I have no idea how you would get an ant infestation in a car but it was disgusting) Jimbaran was famous for seafood restaurants and a pretty sunset so we were keen to try it out. Our hotel was old fashioned but fine and luxuary compared to Gilli T. We sat by the pool for half an hour then got ready for our seafood supper. The beach was packed with restaurants and tables and people touting for business. We settled for one as they were all pretty same samey! The sunset was gorgeous.. one of the prettiest by far that we saw on the trip and the pictures I took show this. There was a wedding going on as well in the restaurant we were in and they had a woman singing English tunes which was funny! I think Mariah Carey featured as well. The food was ok but wasn't quite as good as we hoped for. We had calarmari, lobster, king prawns, fish and crab. After taking lots of pictures and eating our food, we went for a walk up the beach and we realised after dinner there wasn't much to do apart from eat at seafood places. So we headed back and ended up watching HBO! As you do on holiday :)
The next day we scorched by the pool as wanted to take advantage of our last few days and then ended up staying indoors as we knew there wasn't much else to do. I had Indonesian curry which was very soup like. Bit disappointing to be honest as I love Thai and Malay curries..We then went and watched HBO and Identity thief and watched a tom cruise film.
The next day we were picked at 11am with our private shuttle. We were taken to Bali Dream Villas and it was UNREAL!!. Our own pool with a lounge, kitchen and big bedroom and gorgeous bathroom. And this only cost like £75 so cheap as chips! We lounged around by the pool and enjoyed our little villa but a bit later it got quite cloudy and we were getting hungry so headed out for a walk for food. We ended up in a roadside cafe and had burgers (standard) We went back and got ready for our night to meet Becky. We got the free shuttle with an Aussie couple and had a little chat with them. We hadn't heard from Becky yet so we wandered around and ended up at Potato Head Club, we started queueing (Yep, queueing in Indonesia) and then Becky called. She had booked a place for dinner and would meet in Ku De Ta for drinks. It was lovely and had posh white beds. We met them there for a cocktail and then went for dinner to La Lucciola. It was expensive, for Indonesia but very very nice. We shared a mix of starters and then I had a pasta which was tasty. Afterwards we headed into town and went to a bar but it shut at 12 so we headed home afterwards.
The next day we headed for the Potato Head Club. It had a gorgeous infinity pool which overlooked the beach and the wild waves. It's becoming quite an iconic picture now. We couldn't get a bed as it was so packed which was a shame as they looked so nice. It had a lovely pool bar and we just chilled and sunbathed for the day. It was lovely to spend more time with Becky again. We took some pictures and as sunset approached we had to leave left just before 6 to get our transfer back to the villa. We stopped along the way and got some snacks at the local '711' style place. We had a full body massage, which was totally amazing! I felt so relaxed and sleepy after it. And it was a more expensive one at £8!! We also had a Balinese style dinner brought to our room and it was very hot. Calamari and beef curry like with some smaller sides all in bamboo leafs. Lovely way to end the trip and only cost like £40 or something, if only the UK was so cheap! It was the perfect way to end the trip but we were gutted it was over but reality was calling.
The next day we were picked at 8.30am to go to the airport. We went to Bali airport and flew onto Jakarta. We had a couple of hours there, had some KFC and then flew onto Hong Kong. We ended up having 4 hours at HK before our 12 hour flight home. It was a long old trip and no one likes the trip home. Mum and dad came to collect us from Heathrow and took us home. All in all we were travelling about 30 hours. Our epic trip was over. Now to plan the next one... :)
