It is about 26 degrees today, and a nice sunny day. Housekeeping jobs today. Car had been booked in for a service so dropped it off early and headed off to have a delicious breakfast at Relish, in town. Had a visit to the Museum and then a good look around the centre of the town.
The Pure Gold Tourist Information Centre is housed in a beautiful old building and has won many awards. There are lots of examples from the 1900s. The Town Hall was built in 1908, and now boasts a pure gold tipped dome thanks to the generosity of the Mine.
The name C Y O'Connor has cropped up again as he was responsible for the design and construction of a pipeline which supplied much needed water to the region. It opened in 1903 delivering fresh clean water to the town. The original pipeline is still in use today.
Around 2ish we decided to ring the car dealer to see if the car was ready, only to discover that he had forgotten about it totally and would put two men on it immediately to get it done today. Not happy Jan! However, we did some shopping at Woolies and a driver from the garage picked us up and took us home, and said they would ring immediately the car was ready and come back and pick us up. Excellent service after a really big stuff up!
