Returning to Rio has been great fun and we have had some very interesting experiences. The first night after a beautiful day of sunshine we all headed to Lapa for some food and to sample the local nightlife. We found a few fun bars and ended up having a great night. The next evening after spending the day shopping(!!) we decided to try some other areas but found it all to be very quiet so headed back to our hotel and decided to check out the club next door...not the best choice we had made. It turned out to be a place for picking up prostitutes unbeknown to us. Even when we went in and realised it all looked a bit dodgy we decided to stay a while and give it a chance. However we soon regretted this as a group of lads approached assuming that we too were prostitutes (nice!) and grabbed poor Reshma who managed to wriggle out of their grips and headed for the door. Luckily I was the other side of the table so managed to avoid being manhandled! Our hotel manager thought it was hiliarious and kindly directed us to a ´normal´ club which was much nicer!!
Now the end of my travelling is fast approaching and I do not know where the time has gone. We are all heading out tonight for our last big night out before Reshma heads home tomorrow, with mum and I the following day. I cannot believe where the time has flown but can honestly say that coming away for a few months travelling has been the best decision ever. Especially building houses in Guatemala - something that I will never forget. I guess all good things come to an end and although I would really love to spend just a little more time out here to explore Peru and Bolivia etc, you have to know when it is time to go and there is lots to look forward to at home. Cannot wait to catch up with all my friends and looking forward to seeing you all VERY soon! Fingers crossed the journey home via Madrid is not disrupted due to the ash cloud...
