Okay! wooh its been while! Ive done loads since I last wrote on here!
Okay so Bratislava was totally rubbish. We wandered around that town and literally found nothing to do, our hostel was the most boring place and all the staff were horrible! dont go there! the highlight was the kitchen where dug and I took it in turns to cook each other dinner and then on the last day we made a challenge where we had to use up all ofthe left over ingredients we had, it was really nice actually! but I wont bore you with the details!
So after we had spent as long as we could possibly bear in Slovakia we took a day trip to Vienna. We were going to stay there a few days, but we decided that there probably wouldnt be that much to do there, and the main reason we wanted to go was because of the sights, and its meant to be beautiful. So we got up really early and got a train to Vienna. Got there and put our bags in some lockers at the station then wandered around the town. It was beautiful, and the architecture was very impressive, but IÃ m glad we didnt stay longer or we would have got bored. We found the Cathedral in the centre, which is supposed to be the main thing in Vienna. It was very spectactular, but I still prefer the basillica I saw in Krakow. We looked around and stuff. one wall was covered in candles, like literally thousands. I lit one aswell and so did dug.
We then went up to the bell tower which gave us an amazing view over the city, we stayed up there becuase we wanted to hear the bell chime for the hour, but then it didnt. that was dissapointing! After that we went down to the catacombs under the church which was very eerie! our guide was a very strange man aswell! At one point he was pointing out these earns which were all ove rhte place and apparently instead of ashes inside, there were preserved innards of the roayal family, like intestines and stuff! thast was wierd! and then we also saw loads of rooms with bones just piled high! and walls made of bones! it was crazy!
After that we wernt and sat in the park for a while and got some famous icecream. Then headed back to the station to get our night train to Venice.
The night train was really cool aswell! We thought we would do one just for the experience, even though it was more expensive and stuff. We had the very top two beds in our cabin and it was really strange, but nice. I slept reasonably well, probably would have slept better if it hadlt been for the two chinese girls underneath who wouldnt stop talking!
So we arrived in venice yesterday morning and it was HOT! I mean scorching hot, and we sat at the bus station for a while to get a bus to our campsite. When we got here, oh goodness! its well good here! Theres a pool and a bar and a restaurent, its like a proper little holiday resort! and we are paying l,ess that for most hostels! I reccommend this place to anyone who wants to see venice! There are two jacuzzis and a reaslly big pool! so we spent the mosring sunbathing byt the pool and swimming and stuff, then at about 3 when the sun wasnt at its hottest anymore we got the bus back to venice town. Venice is crazy! I had not realised it was going to be anything like this at all! The roads are poretty muvch all replaces with canals, and there are no cars, and the buildings are so high and its just so different to anywhere else we have been so far! We walked around for a bit and saw the streets, today we are going to actually find the things you are meant to see, yesterday we were just being lazy! We bought busboat tickets and decided that instead of getting an (expensive) gondolòa ride we would just go on the bus boat for a while, but that was a bad idea and we ended up manageing to miss not just the bus we were planning on getting home, but the one an hour later! but it was okay, at least we didnt miss the last one!
So yeah! I dont feel like I have properly seen the real venice yet, but I will let you know!
hope all is well!
toodles!
