Overslept this morning, considering we haven't had much sleep since we left home and we lost another two and a half hours we were not surprised. Last night we got changed and went out to find our bearings and had something to eat, our hotel is very nice 28 floors in all and we have been upgraded to the executive rooms on the 24th floor. We are very near to Times Square, which has lots of lovely shops, unfortuantely they were colsed by the time we had something to eat Davey just loves the loo seat, - its his latest I must have one - its heated and washes and drys your backside without even moving off the seat. Considering I do everything except wipe his ++++ I think it would be a good investment. So first call was to the local plumbers. Then after a few walks in the wrong direction we found the wet, meat and clothes markets, just like Singapore Bette but much more crowded. Travelled on one of the old trams and kinda got our way about. I wonder if they sell personal Tom Toms, I could clip it on to Davey and we would have to argue about which direction we were going, he doesn't know his Wai Chais from this Pat Pongs!! and he prefers simple street names like leighton place and Ross Hill - honest they are on the island. At one point the got a bit het up and said "tell me what that signs says over there, I can't read it properly but I'm sure thats where we want to go" Davey that says, get in lane!!!and I was not going to take a chance crossing there. We booked a trip on a Chinese Junk round the harbour, it was a Cocktail cruise. Unfortuantley it was raining but the sights were lovely, all the building have been lit up for Chinese new year which is next week, wish we could have been here. Met a lovely girl from New York - Antoinette who was here on business, had a great time chatting to her about travelling, one of her ambitions is to come to Edinburgh, so you never know we may meet again. Back to Queens peir, jumped on the tram and went in search of a steak house after so much spicy food we just wanted some good ole steak and chips and we got it. Off to bed at 10.30 early start in the morning. x
