Shaking The Tree 2005
G'day from WA
It is Friday morning and I am here in Governor Robinsons trying out this new site as found by Caroline - so all credit to Caroline.
The flight from Singapore was disappointing , Qantas Business Class was brand spanking new and very plush. But the entertainment system did not work on the first 2 seats I sat in and was only intermittent in the third seat. Disgruntled of Farnborough will be letting Qantas know !
But landing in Perth when it was 25 degrees with big open blue skies was just the tonic I needed. Yet again the airport shuttle took me door to door. So the pack has still not been on the back.
The hostel is great - a converted colonial type house it seems strange after all these years, some 15 to be precise to be back in this social travelling community filled with stories of adventures just had and expectation of adventures about to happen.
I went exploring last night and walked dow William Street in to the main shopping area of Perth. It was busy and I must admit I was amazed by how many times I was approached by people asking for $2 for a cup of coffee !
As I have no supplied I settled in a little cafe with live music for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and Pizza. Well I had to celebrate my arrival in Australia some how. The wine, food and music were all good and I returned to the hostel in good form for an early night after the 5am start.
So I am up bright and early today to head off to the museum of Western Australia and hopefully catch up with Iain and Alyson - relatives from the UK.
Take Care and I will write again soon.
