After Taupo we headed down to the famous Tongariro Crossing where i was planning to hike across the famous route. On route to Rotrua we stopped off to get some dinner and came across a lot of funky looking cars so we followed them into a small town where the high street had been taken over by some kind of car parade. There were loads of crazy cars driving up and down showing off and it was pretty cool to have found it and added something different to our little drive. we had some fish and chips and carried on our way to Rotorua.

We hit the road early and headed to our first stop, Hot Water Beach. Apparently there is volcanic activity in this area so if you dig down on the beach you will get warm water, interesting right!
