Hello again everyone!
So we have just had our final two days in Hong Kong and thought we would give you a final update before we tell you all about the first part of our Thailand adventure. Excited? Sitting comfortably? Good! We shall begin...
If anyone is reading this just from searching the site and want's to know how long to stay in Hong Kong for then 4 or 5 days would be about right. Granted, we didn't get to see and do everything in Hong Kong but it just gets tiresome after a while. Still, it's a great place to visit and we would reccomend it to anyone.
On Monday we woke up early again and got on the Metro. It was so easy to use and very quick. We found our way around fine and it didn't cost much at all. Much less stressful than the London Underground! We reached the Skyrail at around 11am, if you ever go to see the big Buddha then get the Skyrail. it was amazing even though it was really foggy. Jon was cacking himself. At somepoints you could only see a few feet in front of the cable car. The whoe ride took about 30 to 40 minutes and through the foggy mountains appeard the Big Buddha. It was such a weird expercience to see. This huge statue sat on top of a hill stood out for a couple of miles. It was fanstatic. We climbed the steps to the Big Buddha and took a few pictues. Words can't describe what it was like and the photos don't really do it justice. It was brillaint. The fog added to the atmosphere. We then walked around the Monastrys where lots of people were praying. It was a shame because the whole area had ovbiosuly become extremely tourist related. Ice cream shops right near the old bulidings and such like. We headed back on the Skyrail, taking in the amazing views once the fog cleared slightly. That night we went out and watched Arsenal beat Man United 2-1 (I wasn't happy - Jon :( (but I was - Luke!)). Met an Ozzy (Leeth) and a Brit (Jay - who was an idiot) and drank with them the rest of the night, they gave us some cool nfo for Oz which has made us excited about going there.
The following day (Tuesday) we all got up really late because we were shattered again. We just took it easy, spent some time in the internet cafe, checking e-mails etc then had a bite to eat and packed our bags.
We are now in Bangkok, the flight was early and only took just over 2 hours. It's so hot here, it's great! Going out later so will give a better update when we have done more.
PS. I (Luke) forgot my USB cable so I can't put the Big Buddha photos on yet. Whoops! And I (Jon) managed to delete ALL my photos from the whole week so we don't have any from the night out or anything. Nevermind!
Miss you all and will speak to you all soon.
Love, the guys x
