Weve been here in Melaka for just over a week and I realised i hadnt wirtten a blog! We got here from Penang last Monday and it took just over 8 hours - Were here until Friday which is when we go to Kuala Lumpar for 10 days - Weve spent our time only in three places but the eastern side of Malaysia you needed to take malaria tablets which we didnt so we coulnt go there!

Melaka is full of history though so luke has loved it - the English only gave it back ot malaysia in the 1950's so theres lots of different food and culture here, weve seen all the tourist spots and been up and down the river by bike and on the boat - eaten in some really nice places and some not so great! At one point luke ordered a chicken dish and it was juts bones - we were not impressed! We also tried there famous dessert "cendol" which was disgusting! Hated it yuckkk! Every weekend though they have a night market full of stalls and wonderful food thats so cheap so we went to that every night of the weekend.

Weve just been chilling here really as its so cheap to stay about 12 pound for our air condition room thats huge with ensuite bathroom and we are eating out for 5pounds a night for the two of us so we are well under budget! We found a Tescos aswell so decided to do a shop - lets just say it wasnt tescos as we know it! Women were shifting through rubbish bits of chicken with there hands - baggin it up and taking it to the till - weve been living off of crisps, cheese and chocolate lol heaven!

We were hoping to go to the beach this week but the nicer ones are on the east side which were a bit gutted about so were spending 10 days in kuala lumpar as theres loads to do there then go to Bali on the 21st so plenty on beach time there!
