Had to get up at 5am in Cairns for our first trip on the Oz Experience bus. So far, so good.

Made our way down south to Townsville where we boarded the ferry across to Magnetic Island. Staying at Base hostel on the island. It's right on the beach and you stay in small beach hut style dorms. Paradise....again.

Went for a walk to the old forts on the island. It's a home for wild koalas but did we see any??? No. Enjoyed the walk and the sunset from the top of the fort and spotted an owl and a possum. Luckily made friends walking up because it was pitch black when we got back down the hill and we had to wait an hour for the bus!

Embarrassed myself on the bus in front of all the locals when I screamed kangaroo!!!!! As a wallaby jumped across the road. Spot the tourist.

Had our first attempt at cooking in a hostel kitchen. Learnt that nothing ever works, great.

Spent the rest of the time on the beach and dancing on the tables at night as an effect of drinking 'passion pop' and in an attempt to keep warm. Warning: Magnetic gets ice cold at night.
