Boarded out flight from BKK to sydney on Saturday. It's an Emirates flight and feels like luxury!

We get a menu, free socks, the Disney back catalogue, lights like stars in the ceiling and.... Free wine. We got so childishly excited we didn't sleep. Bummer.

Arrived in Sydney early in the morning with 5 hours to kill. Exhausted, we even attempted sleeping on the airport floor. Eventually got our connection to Cairns, yet more free food. This is helpful as from our brief stop at the airport we realised how expensive Oz is going to be.

At Cairns we called the hostel and they came and picked us up. It's a pretty cool place, huge and full of backpackers. Went to our dorm, evidence of stinky stinky boys, gross.

Had some dinner at the hostel then crashed into bed at about 9. Slept till 11, stinky boys made an appearance then left.

Booked our hop on hop off bus to Sydney. Still feel proud of ourselves when we book or achieve something.
Walked into town, lovely esplanade and lagoon filled with sunbathing backpackers. Everything seems so clean and chilled out in Oz. I've only been here a day but I'm debating whether to train as an electrician or hairdresser to move here.

Spent a couple of days in Cairns enjoying the lagoon and making the most of the sunshine.
