Franz Josef is home of the Franz Josef glacier. The entire bus signed up to do the full day hike of the glacier the next day. I've heard from so many people it was the best day of their time in New Zealand so I'm really looking forward to it.

In the morning we had to put on a ridiculous amount of layers in preparation for the hike. Only to be told, it's cancelled due to the weather! Gutted. Because I'm on a tight schedule I don't have the time to stay another day in the hope if will be on tomorrow.

As an alternative, a group of the girls and I got a shuttle bus and walked to the base of the glacier. It was a really nice walk, the scenery was stunning and at least I've seen the glacier!

To fill the adventure sized hole on our lives we booked to go quad biking. The quads were huge and it was so much fun. We got covered in mud driving through the Franz Josef scenery with snow capped mountains as our backdrop. Awesome. Half way through we got to choose the route back, scenery or mud? MUD!!!!
