We went to the golf club swimming pool today for a day of relaxing. This time we chose to sit in the shade and read rather than sunbathe, definitely a wise choice as we didn't come back burnt today. For dinner we went to a lovely restaurant called 9th floor in Patong. The restaurant was quite posh and the food was delicious!

This morning we went down to a local spa to have a traditional Thai massage. We were told to take everything off but decided to keep underwear on! The massage wasn't painful like we had expected, it was really relaxing and over too quickly. The spa was really lovely and all we could hear was the sound of the waterfall. We had lunch afterwards next to a little lake, where the tables were actually rafts that could be pulled out onto the lake.
In the evening we went to Promthep, the southern most point on Phuket, the watch the sunset. It was very hot so we were all quite pleased when the sun did go down! We had dinner overlooking the sea and watching the sunset. Later we went to Karon to the Dino bar (flintstone themed!), where they had a baby elephant on the street you could feed. Quite random. After a glass of wine we came back home to get to the air condioning!

As it was the hottest day in Phuket in 4 years yesterday (around 40 degrees!) we decided to go to the cinema today. We saw Valkyrie and couldn't believe it only cost 2 pounds, so much cheaper than home. Before the film started there was an announcement to show respect for the king, and everyone stood up for a short film of him to the national anthem. Everyone here feels very strongly about the King and do not take kindly to any disrespect shown to him. After that we had a look round the shopping meal before coming home. Tonight Puy cooked a meal of roast chicken for us all and some of hers and Nicks friends. We're going on a trip tomorrow so attempted to repack the backpacks tonight in preparation for our flight to Singapore on thursday morning.
