Lucy's Big Adventure
Arrived at Hong Kong airport at 7.20am to be told that my bag was back in Heathrow!! Something had gone wrong and so it was going to be sent on later - can only happen to me can't it! Still I managed to get the MTR (tube) over to Hong Kong Island itself and from there got a taxi up to Wendy and Steve's place in Central. Even managed to pronounce it all in chinese well enough to get the right road :)
We went out for Dim Sum at 11am. Its wonderful - a very family affair with great big groups of people getting together. You sit at the table and the ladies push around their trollies of dishes. They shout out what they've got and you jump in when you want something. They're basically little parcels filled with different fillings and they come with all sorts of dips.
After a short nap to get me over the worst of the jet lag we went over to Stanley on the other side of the island. They have a huge market (mainly clothes) so I bought a couple of bits to keep me going till my bag arrived. First impressions of Hong Kong were very good - amazingly hot and humid and really busy. No dawdling in the street over here! Early night to be had as I'd missed to whole of Sat night due to the time difference.
