Kylie's Shennannigans
ok now that i have time to type and it is not costing me everything that i own i will fill everyone in a little bit more. in answer to your question mum, regarding if i was able to sleep the day i left spain after my big night out, that would be a huge no. i toughed it out the entire day attempting to occupy myself half-heartedly but lets face it nothing is enjoyable when your hungover even when you are in a different country. as a result of this constant continuation of events everytime i am due to leave a place i have made a conscious decision to ATTEMPT (note that as being the key word here) to stop going out the day before i leave when i know sleep will NOT be an option. however, i did manage to drag myself off to la sagrada familia which, for those of you who may not know, is a famous cathedral by the architect antoni gaudi. although he is dead now and it is still not finished the people of barcelona are dedicated to its completion. but i can not see it being finished anytime soon as it was started in something like 1882 and i mean it is big but come on what have these workers been doing for like 120 years. anyway i paid the €5 (and yes i get it cheaper because apparently no matter what country i am in i am still a poverty stricken student) but seriously it was more entertainment from the outside where it was free and considering it was my last €5 because i refused to go to the bank on account of me leaving spain for switzerland i was rather unimpressed with the whole shebang. moving on, however, i went back to las ramblas (which is the main street) and found myself a tacky souvenir shop which low and behold sold the `che`t shirt i have been looking for quietly for ages. but alas apparently i didn`t just pay for the t-shirt because the indian guy who works there insisted on reading my palms at no extra charge and i must say he was actually quite good. he told me that i would travel heaps in my life with my next trip lasting a couple of years and seeing me travel all over the world, that i would have reaaly good years between the ages of 29 - 34, (this one is for you mum - remember how you had a reader tell you that one of your children will have 3 kids and the other only 1 well.....) yes he told me i would have not 1, not 2 but 3 kids and i was like yeah right watch me not!!! he also said i would have good luck with money in that i would get lots but that i would also spend it just as fast but at least i would have the money to spend, oh yeah and apparently i will live until around the age of 81 which is nice and old so if i have 3 kids i guess they will come in handy. just a further note on spain before i move on to switzerland - if you think you live in a dirty town i seriously recommend you come here just once purely because there are street cleaners who attempt to clean this place up but to no avail and i must say when the homeless residents piss and crap in the middle of the day in the main street in front of everyone how do you contend with that (yes i witnessed this first hand and was also extremely tempted to take a photo just on the off chance that no one would believe me). ok now switzerland - i really want to live here for one reason and one reason only - they have tonnes of flower boxes addorning every single window you pass it is so cool. however, the reason i do not want to live here is i have no idea what language they are speaking. apparently it is supposed to be swiss-german but honestly what the f**k is that. if you listen to it it sounds like german, french, and dutch all mixed into one but on top of that sometimes they speak to you in straight french, or german, or dutch. on account of this incomprehensible language i have given up trying which is alright because the majority of people here speak english and if they don`t they are really nice about it and we persevere (unlike the french on occassion - not all but some). i did think that coming to switzerland would be great (and don`t get me wrong it has been) i am travelling alone and i thought i would take this opportunity to not meet anyone in this town so i could just spend some time doing my own thing but sadly this was not the case. sometimes people are just to invasive. am still having an awesome time and i think tomorrow i leave for venice maybe i haven`t really decided but i will be going somewhere tomorrow. as for my photos - none of the computers in internet cafes allow you to upload anything i mean they don`t even have a visible usb port so you can attempt to do it without getting caught so everyone will have to wait a bit longer, rest assured there is heaps of photos i think about 150 so ciao for now or whatever it is they say in this country!!
