Before we arrived in Pinnawala we had a bit of trouble! We planned to leave Thursday morning at 7.15 to get the 7.35 train, when arriving at the train station we were told that the workers were on strike and there would be no trains running! As a result of this we had to get a driver half way across the country, which you can imagine wasn't cheap for us travelers! Day 5 - Today we left Colombo (luckily) and caught an early train to Hikkaduwa. 2nd class was available on this train so we bought our tickets for 80p each. This train journey was much better as we had seats and it wasn't very busy. When we arrived in Hikkaduwa we looked at a few guest houses before we decided. Day 3 was spent traveling to Sri Lanka. When we arrived it was very odd, nothing we had every seen before! We arrived at the guest house after being picked up by a taxi from the airport.
