I'm a traveller...get me out of here!!! Talk about drop ourselves in at the deep end!!!

James: "This must be one of the worst places ever...can't wait til Malaysia!"

Landed in Delhi yesterday morning at sunrise, made it to the hotel once we woke the driver up! Plenty of horn blowing and cow dodging on the way! Certainly different to Watford! Hotel is in the heart of New Delhi market, very busy, very smelly, very dirty! But an experience all the same! Took a tour around Delhi today as didn't feel brave enough to go it alone! Had personal chauffeur (well it had to be done!) who James called Raj! Took us to see all the sights including India Gate (like the Arc de Triomphe), Lotus temple, Old Delhi mosque (James: "minging"!), Gandhi's museum, Kings palace and all Government and Royal buildings. Was a nice way to see the sights and somehow made it back in one piece despite the wacky races style driving! Never seen so many tuk-tuk, rickshaws, bikes, buses and cars on the road, but the cows still have the right of way! Found a nice Nepalese cafe opposite the hotel (literally 5 metres!) which we've sampled a couple of times since arriving, it's nice and chilled away from the hustle and bustle of the market. Booked a tour of Agra and Rajasthan and we leave first thing tomorrow. Our itinerary is Delhi - Agra - Rathabhore National Park - Jaipur - Pushkar - Udaipur (apparently it's the romance capital of india, very us!) this is followed by a 24hr train ride to Mumbai (lets hope we can get a seat cos i'm not sitting on the roof!). Will arrive in Mumbai on 26.11.06, it best be an improvement on Delhi!!!

James wanted to type this but we only got an hour in the internet cafe and it took him that time to get logged on!!! So i've typed and he's butted in where necessary!!!

Hope you've all recovered from Saturday, we really enjoyed ourselves and it was great to see so many people there! Thanks for all the gifts and cards and messages, they all meant a lot (apart from yours Gobbie but that's no surprise, bet you can't even remember what you wrote! For you and anyone that doesn't know: "Dave likes sex!"...good news we've found you a willing partner or two here in Delhi! They've got four legs and go well with chips!!! Unlucky!!!)

It may not be our most favourite destination but at least we're still smiling!!! Things can only get better!!!

You've got no excuses now to get those messages coming in!!!
