We arrived at our hostel (Beach Shack)about 6pm after a killer bus journey we were pretty drained! Were relieved to arrive at a very homely hostel with a bit lounge area, wide screen TV with SKY- get in!! We watched the men's semi's of the Aus open with 2 guys we'd met then got an early night ready for White Water Rafting the following day!

So..day 2- 7am pick up and headed to Tully river via a stop off for a Coffee and a short breifing video and hiring some v trendy sandles! Steph, a little anxious, looking for some reassurance recieved none! :-) So, lifejackets and helmets on and paddles in hand, jumped into our raft along with an english guy and girl and a NZ guy who seemed pretty raring to go, and yes not forgetting our guide,Lisa, she was a nutter!! We set off on our 12km journey down Tully river hitting up to grade 5 rapids! The rapids had very unusual names - We hit two rapids one after another... the first was called Foreplay and the second Wet and Moist..and yes bro I had to had claire how here Vagina was?! :-) We stopped half way down the river for a bbq lunch, eating very little just incase it were to bounce we were straight back into our raft ready for more action! We were well into it by this time, no fear at all... went thrugh one rapid all sitting at the back of the raft so we were bound to fall out! Wsn't so confident at times as we approached one rapid I think Lisa's words were along the line of s*** get up, get down, head left, no right holy s*** do what the **** u like!!! But we made it, reaching the end of the rapids we didn't want to finish! Lisa then flipped our raft to finsih in style, luckily steph realised she was going to do it went pale and dived out just in time!! Still buzzing we jumped onto the bus back to a bar to watch the dvd of the day and looked at the pics- comical!

Excellent experience, It was definately more fun than scary and a must do activity- bring on the SKYDIVE!!!

We decided to stay an extra day in Mission beach before heading to cairns and spent the following day chilling by the pool and in front of the tv!
