Well on the Thursday before this entry, I went to Agustin's (Jose's son) school to say hi to everybody. I spoke to three classes for a few hours with the help of their English teacher whose English was phenomenal. We did a combination of English and Spanish questions which worked pretty well for everybody.
Well unfortunately we spent an hour outside in the freezing cold and saw hide nor hair of any animal let alone a boar so that was a shame, however the next night we went to another farm. Sod's law in action as we were leaving I was in the truck and Matty was on the back and of course we saw a boar, b*****. It was not that big apparently, although it looked massive to me. We got it from a hell of a range with a combo of the rifle and shotgun. I was annoyed I did not get a crack at it but hopefully the big one on La Gloria will still be around. Then on the Sunday we went to a big farming expo. It was really fun with everything from cars to animals on show (including some monster sheep). It was a real Argentine experience with everybody dressed up in their berets and best gaucho gear. Then we watched some of the prize givings and also a brilliant cow herding competition involving three horsemen and a group of different numbered cows, the aim was to get three cows of the same number into the corral. The horses were criollo and so very small (I worried about the size of some of their riders), however they were staggeringly agile and fast, acceleration like rockets. It was so fun to see the pros doing it, although frankly I reckon myself and the team do just as well in the big fields. All in all a brilliant day, the only slight blip was that I did not bring my camera, so have no photos of it!!! And on the way back I may have had a brain wave of epic proportions for a career, horse breaking. I have sent an email to granny and mum to ask opinions so we shall see how it pans out.
