We left Sydney on Fri morn, and arrived here in San Fran on Fri morn! Spooky!!! We spent the day checking out Fisherman's Wharf and then hopped a double decker bus to see the city and pick out spots to go back to later...the photo is the Civic Arts Centre, modelled on St Paul's basilica and had real 24 carat gild on the dome...then a nanna nap for all after the big flight! Tonight we checked out the sea lions on the pier..they first came here after the 1989 earthquake and the city has warmly adopted them, moving the businesses off the wharf the sea lions lie and building them pontoons to meet on. Very cool way of managing the environment ... Tomorrow off to Alcatraz! Another big sleep awaits...Lou xx
