Just a one night stay here... Just long enough to visit Reef HQ, an aquarium and wander the town to see what it is all about!
We are booked on a ferry in the morning to spend a few nights on Magnetic Island. So today we need to utilise the few hours we have!!! We have a quick dip in the pool to cool down after the journey and walk to the hostel. We have to get to Reef HQ so we have a few hours before it closes. We arrive in time for the end of feeding time and get sucked into the next talk of the day, Dangerous animals of the ocean... Sarah loves learning about what could kill us!!! The man doing the talk is also entertaining with his direct 'these can kill you' explanations, when actually they don't prey they just defend themselves so some top tips on how to prevent sure death is learnt!!! Next is the turtle talk, about the species found and how they are injured and how we can prevent hurting them... We then go visit some turtles in turtle hospital! We now have an hour to venture around the aquarium of the most amazing variety of fish we have ever seen... Dad you would love this!!! We leave to wander around the town, a strange place as it is very quiet and wild west like!!! This is suppose to be a city! We grab a drink in a locals bar, pulled in by the fact they are showing a Man City game (vs Southampton) on the tv!!!
Back at the hostel we settle down for an early start to catch our ferry.
