5am we grab our packed lunch breakfast and climb aboard. Today is the day when it's all about the driving but apparently it will be worth it.... We are heading to Nata in Botswana and 'Elephant Sands'. We sleep, play spot the giraffe and view the changing landscapes and economies as we cross the border at 'Martins Drift'. A reliably easy border crossing which pleases Sidney and we start on the longest straightest road ever........... We stop for lunch in FrancisTown, a pizza is lunch from the 'Debonairs Pizza' shop just like our Dominos but at a better price! It's all very surreal seeing the home delivery bikes ready and waiting to deliver to the very different types of homes..... Everyone here is so smiley and friendly, we notice another shift in safety apparently there is very little crime in Botswana it is a peaceful nation who's army is the anti poaching unit as no conflict to manage. Back on the bus for the last leg....... We eventually turn off the road onto the sand and several minutes later we are at our destination and it is exactly what is says on the tin......... It was worth it!! WOW Hundreds of miles of sand with 1000s of wild elephants. At the camp is a watering hole and 7 elephants are drinking and bathing. We unload our bags into the great hut overlooking them but head down to the bar to see them closer (see pics). The rest of the evening is spent watching them, we set off to our hut, torches at the ready and eyes peeled so we don't get squished....... A 5:30 start tomorrow on a game walk
