CHIANG RAI 20TH-24TH NOVEMBER 2006
We left Pai on the 20th by local bus to Mae Malai (70B), then changed bus to fang (65B), then on a sawngtal to Tha Ton (20B), where we spent one night. seven and a half hours traverlling in all.
The following morning we caught sawngtal to Mae Salong (60B), a pretty deserted town surrounded by lush green mountains. We stayed one night.
On the 22nd we caught a bus to Chiang Rai . Chiang Rai is like a mini Chiang Mai, still a city and highly catering for trecking tours, but going in a much slower pace, more relaxed. It has a great night market, full of food stalls where we ate both nights we were staying in Chiang Rai. Dishes cost around 25p each so we could enjoy a variety.
After two nights in Chiang Rai we left for Laos, our second country!
