Hi!

I went for my first two dives in the sea today and they were great. It was quite choppy, so when I first got into the sea I was a little concerned, but once we started to descend I was fine.

We saw loads of cool stuff underwater including loads of carpet sharks, some rays, starfish, and black and yellow fish of various kinds. I will have to get a book to look up what I saw because I will never remember it all!

Surfing is also very popular here at Byron Bay, and we virtually had to run over a few surfers to get the boat off the beach. Its a shame I don't have time to learn how to surf - but really I don't think I would be that good at it!!!

Tommorrow we go out for two more dives then hopefully I get my dive license. On Friday I fly to Sydney and am going to stay with the family of Jo's mum's penfriend - which is extremely kind of them, especially considering the tenuous link and the short notice!
