Hi!
Having a great time in Sydney! But very busy!
I arrived on Friday and Don and Joye took me for a drive around the north of the city and to Manly which gave me a good idea of where things were. That night we went to the cinema and out for dinner which was lovely.
On Saturday I went exploring around the harbour. I took loads of photos of the bridge and the opera house (only some of which are on the website - I have loads more but didn't want to bore you all of the same photos over and over again). I really enjoyed looking around the harbour - it really is amazing. That afternoon I climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge to get a better view of the city, which was great!
Later that afternoon I caught the ferry over to Manly to have a wander around and to get some dinner before heading off to the cinema for the second night in a row. I wanted to go to this particular cinema because someone told me about it when I was in Cambodia. In this cinema before the film starts a Wirlitza organ rises out of the floor and a man plays a few tunes before being lowered back under the stage! It was different - something you wouldn't get in Hexham!
On Sunday I wandered around the city again, this time taking in the art gallery, the government house, Darling Harbour, China town and a couple of other places too. I must have walked miles!! That night I met up with Tom and Jacqui from the UK and Steve from Sydney who I had met in Thailand. It was good to see them again and catch up on how their travelling was going.
Yesterday I caught the train up to the Blue Mountains. Again I must have walked miles! I went up and down the footpaths around the 3 Sisters, and took 100's more pictures (again with numerous duplicates - same, same but different!). The Blue Mountains are spectacular and they were well worth a visit. By the time I got back to Don and Joye's house I was exhasted though!
Today I am having a much slower paced day. I am doing my laundry and might catch a ferry somewhere this afternoon.
Tommorrow I head off to Fiji, so I have just been sorting out my accommodation - I have decided that it is time to make the move into hostels!! Lets just wait and see how long this lasts !
I hope you are all well.
Take care,
Love Louise x.
