This afternoon, we headed over to Nasca (at this stage most of us including myself had "Peruvian belly" aka chronic food poisoning ) but that wasn´t going to dampen our spirits to see the famous Nasca lines. We all headed towards the local airfield to see these famous lines made in the ground over 500 years ago. No one knows exactly why these lines were put there, were they a symbol to the gods? were they put there to attract aliens?? or was someone just having a laugh??!! whatever the reason, it is known as fact that they are over 500 years old, they are absolutely enormous! and cover miles and miles. Every line despite going over mountains ranges is perfectly, perfectly straight and as you´ll see if you have a look at the pictures it isn´t only the pictures that are of interest there are also 3,000 other lines and random symbols again all perfectly straight - very strange indeed!

The absolute highlight of this was seeing the famous "hummingbird " that is on top of a mountain and is again enourmous. I was lucky enough to see this twice, as the person I was sat next to on the little 5 seater plane threw up the whole flight the first time round so I spent most of my time doing good Samaritan bit and looking after them, so I shelled out and did it all again which was well worth it, and another one ticked off my list
