Off to this national park tomorrow, before taking the jungle train to the Thai boarder.
This place was amazing and I'd not seen anything like this since South America, in fact this place wouldn't have neen out of place at all in south america.
After a 9 hour mini bus ride from the tea plantations of the gorgeous and green cameroon highlands we eventually arrived and first off me and Martin (me & my latest travelling buddy) started our search for somewhere to stay for the night. We'd heard on the traveling grapevive that everything ws full, so with Martin on guard dog partrol I took charge and search the huts for somewhere, soe of them were terrible even by harden traveler standatds that I had grown accustomed to after 10 months of travel, but in the end we found a little "reggae" encampment right next to the river with a bar shop, book shop restaurant and interne cafe and between us had our own 10 bed challet to ourselvs!
After a days chilling (and me searching for me hoddie which I'd had since Santiago where I'd left on the mini bus) we caught up with Sebastain the crazzy mad German and decided to hire a mortorised canoe to take us 50 minutes up the river where we were. At about 8pm we spotted out first tapier, which Is the size of a very large big that hs dark head and bottom and white middle, apparently we were really lucky to see these! we also saw hundreds pf fireflies, and grasshoppers. to spend the night in a "hide" to see what wildlife we could spot,
Then did a 12 km hike bck, t warp speed with about 6kilo's on my nack.... note to self don't hike with 2 super fit 23 year olds!
