Hola everyone! I hope christmas preparations are going well....its been a busy few days, and as most of the time we were suffering a massive hangover, the days seem to have merged into one!
Ok, on the 15 th we arrived in Christchurch for the second time around. We had a massive night out...we rolled home at 6 am the next morning as the dawn was breaking, birds singing etc, very very wrong. Did the usual, went to loadfs of bars, danced a lot, did tequilla, Briony and I got (fake) tattoos amusingly saying 'get into it, not out of it' ie don't get drunk. We harrassed the DJ into free shots and the music we wanted, danced on a podium...
Next day we suffered for it. Lay around on the hostel sofas for about 5 hrs trying to summon up enough energy to drive to Kaikoura! It was not a pretty site. Arrived eventually, after I ended up driving the whole way with a couple of 'rest stops' for sarah to gag out of the window! Had a massive curry and was in bed by about 8pm.
Me and Briony did the best thing of our entire trip the next morning. Up at 4.30 am, we were in the sea by 7am for sweimming with dusky dolphins! Avsolutely amazing. Words cannot describe how great it was to be snorkelling and to have these little dolphins swim around you, look at you, listen to you singing! There were hundreds of them. ON the way back we watched them swim around the boat and perform loads of somersaults, basically just showing off. We also saw some mating! The best part was that they are completely wild and only play with you if they want to, they just seem so happy.
Went to Hamner Springs for a soak in the thermal pools that afternoon, very nice and relaxing. Next day we drove to the ferry to cross over into the North Island. Got to Wellington, had tea and watched a film!
OK have to be quick ruinning out of time, we are currently in National Park, and this morning did some amazingly frightening quad biking! It was awesome. I will write more next time. Tomorrow I face my biggest challenge yet, weather permitting...so stay tuned!!!! love you all!
