After leaving Bangkok at approximately 7pm Friday night, we finally arrived on the beautiful island of Ko Phangan at 12.30pm Saturday.
We took a songthaew (shared taxi) to Leela Beach and secured a beachside bungalow/hut for 300 baht per night. We dumped our bags and made the 7 minute short walk into Haad Rin, where we wondered through the streets and browsed the shops before settling on the 'Lucky Crab' for a bite to eat (Laura - Spicy seafood soup, Sarah - Fried oyster sauce covered mixed seafood and veg).
We spent another hour wandering the winding streets then headed back to our beach bar for a drink just after sunset. In the evening we headed out to watch some footie, after stopping off for a Banana and Mars Bar Crepe (yes it was as good as it sounds!). In our final bar we had a Baileys coffee before bed.
We had a great nights sleep under our mozie net and hit the beach around 10.30am. At 12pm ish we headed into Haad Rin for a wander and bite to eat at the 7/11 (BBQ Pork Tao - Sarah, Yoghurt and Muesli - Laura).
We headed back to Leela Beach and walked across the boardwalk on the opposite side of the beach for a nosey. Then it was our first attempt at sea kayaking - very successful with no capsizing! - we spent a wonderful hour in he sea, going quite far out to explore seeing many flying fish on our way, we even had time for a quick dip.
After another couple of hours on the beach, we hit the bar for sunset, unexpectedly bumping into 'Accommodation Dan' from Lincoln Uni!
We got ready and headed into Haad Rin and enjoyed a sumptious seafood meal of Shark and Red Snapper at Banana Bar and a final wander of the shops.
