Yesterday we were up at 8.00am still on a high from our skydive! We checked out at 10.00am and hung around Scotty's Beach House in the boiling heat waiting for our bus to arrive. We departed Mission Beach at just after 1.30pm and headed south with Greg as our driver. We made good time and after a food break en-route we made it into Townsville for around 5.15pm. We headed into the ferry terminal and collected our ticket which was included in our accommodation package. At 6.00pm we made the 20 minute ferry journey over to the beautiful, tropical and very green Magnetic Island. We checked in and found we were charged about half of what we expected to pay - it turns out we shouldn't have got a free ferry ticket - but who are we to complain! We dumped our bags then headed to the bar for a tea of Lasagne and Salad (one portion split between two! - still massive and filling!). After we got chatting to an annoying, young british traveller we decided to head back to our dorm and chill out there.

This morning we were up at 8.00am again and checked out around 10.00am. We sat in the sun before it decided to rain just as we left the hostel to catch our 11.40am bus to the ferry terminal. Along with Greg, the driver, who had also stayed at Base on Magnetic Island with us, there were only 10 people on the journey down to Airlie Beach. Once we were off the ferry back in Townsville and back on the bus, it was nice to have a bit extra room to spread out. We had one brief stop in Bowen for an Egg and Lettuce sandwich and then it was straight down to Airlie Beach. We checked into Koalas Hostel, then headed to our sailing office to check in for our boat trip tomorrow. In the evening we met up with Greg and the rest of the bus at Beaches Bar and enjoyed some free wine before heading back to the hostel in the pouring rain and to bed (stopping for some toast on the way!)
