We were up and at reception by 9.00am this morning to get our transfer to Kaiteriteri Beach where we boarded our catamaran for our day exploring the Abel Tasman NP by sea. We spent the morning sailing to Archage Bay, stopping at 'Split Apple Rock' and enjoying complimentary coffee and biscuits. We also had the rare and unique opportunity of sailing into a gorgeous, lush lagoon, which they only get the chance to once or twice a month, due to changing tides. We docked at Archage Bay at 12.30, got off the boat and enjoyed our sarnies with Kelly, Adele, Neil, Dave (large American chap) and Delphine (quiet, but nice French gal) before heading off for a beachwalk (collecting shells for Sarah to make a necklace out of along the way), taking in the gorgeous, green scenery. After a group photo in a cave, it was time to get back aboard, destination: Tong Island - home to the Nation Park's protected seals who were chillin' on the rocks. From here we headed back towards Kaiteriteri Beach, calling by a few beautiful bays before putting up the sails and kicking back on the 'trampoline' in the sun listening to tunes. We arrived back just before 4.30pm allowing us just enough time to nab a gooey caramel and chocolate lolly, before our mini-bus took us back to Old Macs.
We chilled out for the rest of the day - Laura caught up on some washing and straightened Sarah's hair before enjoying another round of chicken satay and stirfry veg and a D&M about philosophy with Dave!
