Yesterday morning we made our way through Anjuna, stopping for a chocolate doughnut for breakfast, and onto the bus for a day at Baga Beach. We arrived at the beach around 11.30am and were immediately surrounded by the watersports salesmen who had tried to talk us into their products when we had visited on Saturday! They even remembered our names! One of them was dressed in a Sheffield United shirt - Laura immediately discarded his services and we decided to use another company to embark upon our first ever time ... Paragliding!!
We headed out to sea on a small speed boat, wearing very fetching life jackets, before joining a larger boat in further off-shore. There was only us and another gentlemen 'going up' and it was us to go first! After climbing into a harness, which didnt feel too secure, we were quickly attached to the chute at the back of the boat, told to bend our knees and suddenly we were airborne!
The experience was a pure adrenalin rush and we got some great views from so hight up, after about 5 minutes we were pulled into the boat and we managed to 'land' smoothly!
Once back on the beach we hired sunloungers and baked for a short while before having to cool off under the umberella, the beach in Baga was a lot busier than what we were used too in Anjuna and one bonus was the guys on the beach fetching anything you wanted from the enarby shacks, we stuck to ice lollies!
At around 4.30pm we left the beach and took a stroll through Baga until the next bus came and after waiting half an hour for a connection in Arpora we finally made it back to Anjuna and walked through the town stopping at the shops for Sarah to look at skirts (and in fact buying a pair of shorts!)
After a freshen up we headed back into the town and had tea of Calamari Massal (Laura) and Veg Biryani (Sarah) watchin Evan Almighty (rubbish!) followed by a lovely coffee and Dairy Milk (altho it didn't taste the same!)
This morning we woke at the usual time of 9am and headed down to our usual spot in front of Janet and Johns on the beach! We succumbed to the guys in the beach offering massages and indulged in a back, arms, head and neck massage each, it was bliss! An all for 2 pound!
The rest of the day was spent mainly in the shade as we are gradually turning into lobsters and our burnt hands were on fire! Although we were befriended by a canadian and his indian friend who bought us drinks and a gorgeous kingfish before we made a hasty exit back to our room to pack for our departure tomorrow!
