Hello there!

Well I arrived in Melbourne last week - Thurs night I think it was! Had a couple of really nice hot sunny days which I spent on St Kilda beach, a tram ride south of the city centre. The beach is ok, I was just happy to see some sun!

Spent a day wandering around the city and then yesterday went on a trip to Phillip Island. Went to a winery for some vino tasting (but I was a little hungover so stopped after a few glasses and I defo couldn't stomach the port!), and a wildlife park, which was ok. Got on to Phillip Island at about 4pm, and went for a free meal (I filled up!), and to one of the best beaches on the island. Went to the Western side to a place called the Nobbies, just nice sea cliff views and walk. But very nice!

Then at sunset heading back to a different beach in a national park to watch the penguin parade! There's loads of penguins that nest on the island (there's some in Melbourne too but you have to go to the quieter beaches to go see em, and there aren't as many!). They all come out of the water at sunset and sleep in their little burrows for a day or 3 before they go back out to sea for a few days or weeks!

There's apparently about 300 of them that come up every night, over the course of about 2 hours. They come up in little groups of between 2 and I think about 15 was the most we saw in a group, and they're all little and cute!

It was absolutely throwing it down though - it actually couldn't have been raining any havier, so we only sat outside for abouy sn hour and prob saw about a hundred penguibns before we got few up and went inside! I am very suprised I'm not ill today I've never been so cold and wet in my life! Ok, that's a blatant lie, but it wasn't nice!

So yeah that was the penguins - but no pics allowed which was a bit rubbish!

Anyway, today am just chilling out and wandering about. Alice and Rob get here tomoro and so does Dale. Gonna go out for a few drinks and stuff then doing the Great Ocean Road at the start of next week - hiring a camper out between three of us which should be good! Cheaper than doing a tour too!
