Hey from Alice Springs

Spent the last few days here - there's not a lot to do but at least it's a bit warmer! It's like 16/18 degrees, but it's pretty windy so very fresh! Got a bit burnt yesterday though lol, working on my tan!

Leave Alice Springs tomorrow to drive up to Darwin, in my cheap campervan. There's 2 of us at the mo, but trying to recruit more to make it cheaper! Bought it forward a bit because tehre's nothing to do here and it's a bit scary!

There's a massive Aboriginal population here, and they scare me a bit!

Not got a lot to do today, just gonna wander! Met some really cool people here, I've loved this hostel! Met this American dude called Sierra who works in the hostel kitchen, and Carl who works here too - big food portions and free stuff yay, a couple of English girls, and met up with Kathryn who I met in Adelaide. Then last night I met a French guy and an Aussie guy - the Aussie guy was a teacher from Sydney but here for a couple of months to teach aboriginal boys, who have commited crimes. In Sydney he taught girls in a juvenille detention centre - he was pretty interesting. Then in my dorm last night I met a girl and her boyfriend - and the girl was from Sheffield (near where I lived there - we discussed the pubs at length haha!) and she went to Birmingham uni and turns out she knows like 8 of my friends from school! Small world innit! Last few days have reminded me why I love travelling - I've met so many people and I love chatting to them and hearing all their stories and stuff! Sierra had some pretty interesing ones - he had a lot of random knowledge and he lived in the mountains for a few months eating nothing but fruit and veg raw! Haha.

ANYWAY. I need breakfast, just thought I'd say I prob won't be around for a few days again cos I'm going outback again - to the real sun! YAY!
