Little Lottie's big adventure
I kinda forgot about all the stuff which I bought in KL, so I was looked like a pack horse when I got to thre airport!! haha The staff must have felt sorry for me, as somehow I got upgraded to a Hot Seat, which meant I got extra leg room....like ly little legs needed it really! But I got to Melbourne fine and even forgot that I order food so that was a nice little treat for me on the plane! haha
What a culture shock this is being in Australia! I arrived here last Saturday 17th December and spent the weekend in Berwick at a friends house. It was so weird coming from Asia and Malaysia to Australia as everything is normal over here, and actually reminds me of the USA. Think it's all the massive motorways and shopping mals and fast food restuarants everywhere. The family took me to a shopping mall and then had a typical Aussie BBQ at their friend's house on Saturday night. My first Aussie BBQ!
Then on Monday i checked into Discovery Hostel in the CBD area of Melbourne where I bumped into a few people from Asia that I had met on my travels. So i spent the first day with them, just looking round the City really and taking some pics. From the bridge I could see the MCG in the distance and we had a little picnic in of the parks. That night, a few of us from the hostel went out for a few drinks, but at $8 for a drink we literally only had a couple!! Everything is sooooooo expensive over here its ridiculous!!
Next day I got the tram over to St Kiilda and met a few more people that I met in Asia. St. Kilda is nice and it's not that far away from thre CBD either. I went to the beach for a bit and walked around the area. It's just really weird being here, as I'm used to the beaches in Asia being mainly quiet, and where the sand ends, the palm trees and beach huts start. Whereas here, the beach ends, then a concrete fencing starts then roads then loads of hotels and stuff.
The last few days I have been on a walking tour organised by the hostel, a little more exploring the City and then just chilling at the hostel really. Looking forward to Sydney and meeting up with loads of people that I've met in Asia!!!
