Day 23: 23/1/13
It was tough getting up this morning!! Hazel and Jenny were coming on the bus aswell. We had to say goodbye to Andrew but we invited ourselves to Colorado so we might meet again!! Of course he's invited to Ireland and England aswell. I'll definitely have to meet up with the girls too.
The bus today was older and much squishier. We had a new driver called Spoon- a non-Kiwi driver. He's English. He seemed to be good enough with bits of information along route. It was really bumpy and rocky though which wasn't good after a night out. I spent most of the journey with my eyes closed trying to sleep, but I couldn't sleep. I needed plenty of water!
We stopped to get a view of Mt Cook which looked really cool. It's the highest mountain in Australasia. It's covered and snow and usually the top is covered in clouds but today it was really clear so the photos came out well.
We were staying right at the base of the mountain in Mt Cook village. The lodge was a hotel previously so the rooms were nice and spacious. Jenny, Hazel and myself were sharing. We're so used to each other now it's an effort to start all over again with new people! Most people on the bus have been on other buses previously so they all have their own little groups.
We dossed for a while in the room. Then Hazel and I went for a stroll around to take some photos of the mountains. We were on the noodles this evening which isn't very exciting!
There was a table quiz in the bar then which we joined. There were a lot of questions about New Zealand politics, news and sport so we were guessing a lot! We didn't come last though so we were delighted with that! The lowest score was 22 and the highest was 84. We got 58 so respectable enough! We were called Team Why Not as Fabian (a German) on our old bus answered most questions with Why Not!
We had a well-earned early night then!
