Langkawi is the island of opportunity being, for a reason we never discovered, a duty free island. As such it has become a bit of a weekend spot for locals and of course on the route for travellers. It's a bit bigger than Pangkor is, so that was good for a bit more variety in restaurants and a few bars here as well. Georgetown was a really nice break from the beach. We had some really good food at the night market. The hawker centers we eat at are incredible. They are like the food centers in Singapore; we think we described them then. A big eating hall full of tables and chairs, sometimes shared if it's busy, and all around the outside are different stalls mostly offering only a few dishes but altogether there are hundreds of foods and nationalities on offer. Malaysia so far has been a mix of rain and sun and it was no different on the beaches. Hello Malaysia! And we were pleasantly surprised to not be charged for our visa . By accident or not we're not sure so we'll just keep it quiet for the time being. I had worked out that the bus station we should arrive at was a ten minute walk away from our hostel. Score. That plan would have worked if we'd arrived into that bus station and not one on the outskirts of KL and us absolutely clueless where we were. Two metros later and we were there back in hostel...
