Sihanoukville is the Thailand of Cambodia. It's a small beach destination, and massively westernised. Loads of western restaurants, some amazing coffee, a couple of private cinema screens (choose your own pirate film, order in pizza and away you go), a lovely beach, sea and the weather is perfect for a bit of tanning.
The day we arrived it was absolutely hammering down (wish Sean and I hadn't offered to look for the accommodation while Tori and Tyler got to sit in the bar and chill out. Thankfully, they had a couple of refreshing beers for us when we arrived back, soaking wet.
We spent our days drinking coffee, doing a bit of pre-work for South Korea, munching on snacks and lovely dinners, tanning in the afternoons, playing hearts in the evenings, and enjoying plenty of 50cent beers. It really is a hard life.
Panicked slightly the day before we were due to leave as there was no transportation left to Ho Chi Minh. Slight problem as we need to be there on Monday to pick up our appointment packages for work and take them to the embassy, so we scooted on out of there on the first bus to Phnom Penh to try and get a bus the next day. Flaw in the plan here as we aren't due to get to Vietnam until Monday, when the visa starts. Just a quick trip to the embassy - haggling with officials over the 'charge' to change the date - that was an interesting experience. (Being a girl with a winning smile helps here!) And we are on our way - unexpectedly - back to the capital!!
