Day 11 - 24th July Perdon to Jasper - 486km
The Rockies....
Another slow start to the day as I sit in the RV park cafe. Must have spent three hours in there using up free Wi-Fi. Actually I should sit in cafes like that more often. The interest I was generating from other customers was great. Where are you going, where have you come from.
Finally hit the road at 11.30 and it was the same usual, I hate straight roads, although I was feeling better than yesterday. The approach to Jasper went through Mt Robson Nat Park. I couldn't get enough photos of this mountain. It's one picture I have seen in many books.
Robson the views just went from great to spectacular. The Canadian Rockies are
something else.
Once I reached Jasper I soon found out how popular it is. It's the most cars I have seen on the road since Anchorage. Soon found out that all the camp sites were booked out. I ended up at an overflow camp site, the views made up for it.
Planning on a rest day tomorrow to have a look around Jasper.
On the down side the oil light has been coming on since I hit the warm part of Canada. Plan on having a look to see what is happening.
Cheers
Greg
