I have just stroked a Koala! We are in Rockhampton-beef centre of Australia and went to their little zoo in the Botanical Gardens. We saw kangaroos, wallabies, lizards, a croc , sleeping wombats and all manner of birds (like these lorikeets) too. Before that the only Aussie animals we seem to have been able to spot are dead ones by the side of the road so it was lovely to see some live ones!
