....it's also very, very hard not to be impressed by Melbourne! My stay here was a little shorter - but no less pleasant. I managed to meet up with my good friend Paul (an avid and honest-to-goodness Melbournian) from last years trip to the American Deep South. Laura and Aaron flew in from Perth for the weekend...it was great to see them and to spend some more time with them again. After many, many years I also got the opportunity to meet up with my lovely cousin Linda...it was great to see her!
Melbourne is also - after eight weeks - where I finally leave Australia from. So, a special place for many reasons. During my time over here and apart for the flight from Alice Springs to Sydney, I reckon I have travelled around 12,000 kilometres overland (count half as much again if you include all the walking). It's been an absolutely terrific experience...... would I do it all again in the same way? Probably not. But I can now say that I've done it.
Well, only five nights in Bangkok to go........
